Marc and Tracy Frankel started Pizzicato in 1989 – just a little ‘mom and pop’ in a tiny location on Portland’s west side. That’s them in a clipping from the Oregonian way back when. Long-time restaurant editor Karen Brooks wrote a glowing review a few months after Pizzicato opened, and soon lines were forming out the door. Who knew?

At right, Marc and Tracy today – still going strong and loving what they do. Today, Pizzicato has pizzerias in most Portland neighborhoods, along with Hood River, Washington and California. To all of Pizzicato’s customers and friends over the years, Marc and Tracy say “thank you” for your patronage, your discriminating palates, and all the wonderful memories.
